Winter Storm And Snowfall Warnings And Weather Statements For Tonight And Tomorrow

Winter storm warning in effect for:

  • Burlington – Oakville
  • City of Hamilton
  • Niagara Falls – Welland – Southern Niagara Region
  • St. Catharines – Grimsby – Northern Niagara Region
  • Dunnville – Caledonia – Haldimand

Major winter storm beginning this evening with heavy snow and blowing snow.

An intense low pressure system from Texas will bring a large area of
snow with it later this afternoon and tonight as it tracks up over
Ohio into Pennsylvania tonight.

Rain, or a rain and wet snow mix will develop this afternoon across the region. As the low approaches, increasing northeasterly winds will pull in colder air from the north. This will result in the rain quickly changing to snow by evening. The snow will persist through the night and may fall heavily at times. Northeast winds gusting to 60 km/h will also result in areas of blowing snow giving very poor visibility at times tonight into Friday morning. Travel tonight is not advised.

Total snowfall accumulations of 15 to 30 cm are likely by the time the snow tapers off late Friday morning.

 

Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Brantford – County of Brant
  • Woodstock – Tillsonburg – Oxford County
  • Chatham-Kent – Rondeau Park
  • Windsor – Leamington – Essex County
  • Simcoe – Delhi – Norfolk

Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

An intense low pressure system from Texas will bring a large area of heavy snow with it tonight as it tracks up over Ohio into Pennsylvania tonight.

Rain ahead of this low will arrive this afternoon, then quickly change over to snow, heavy at times by early this evening. Total snowfall amounts of 15 to possibly 20 centimetres are likely by Friday morning.

  • Kitchener – Cambridge – Region of Waterloo
  • Mount Forest – Arthur – Northern Wellington County

Significant snowfall near 10 cm tonight as winter return
Special weather statement in effect for:

  • City of Toronto

5-10cm expected
