What’s Open And Closed On Canada Day

Taking a look at what will be closed on Canada Day, a number of banks and retail locations including Walmart will be shutting down for July 1st, also closed are going to be Landfill and transfer stations, Canada Post locations will be closed on July 3rd.

 

All liquor and beer stores are closed on Canada Day, and most local grocery stores are closed. LCBO stores are back to regular store hours on Monday.

 

Libraries, community centres, and arena’s will be closed with a few exceptions.

 

Kitchener:

 

Indoor pools will be operating on special swim schedules.

 

The Aud and arenas and the Budd park indoor field will be closed on Canada Day.

 

Farmers Market Open

 

Waterloo:

 

All Waterloo community centres all closed except for a select few.

 

Moses Springer Community Centre Open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on July 1.

 

Bechtel Park Manulife Financial Soccer & Sports Centre Outdoor fields open on July 1.

 

Grand River Transit will operate on a Sunday service schedule with modified Saturday service on Route 21 Elmira. Details on their website.

 

Go Transit will operate on a Saturday schedule on July 3.

 

The Region of Waterloo International Airport will remain open.

 

Cambridge:

 

Cambridge Centre for the Arts is closed July 3 and will re-open July 4.

 

Only two pools are open for public swims.

Ed Newland Pool Open from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on July 1.

George Hancock Pool Open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on July 1.

Brantford:

 

Wayne Gretzky Centre closed on July 1st.

 

Farmers Market Closed

 

Hamilton:

 

Art Gallery of Hamilton is open on Canada Day from noon to 5 p.m.

 

Civic museum sites will be closed on Saturday, July 1 and Monday July 3, except the Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology, which is open Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

All City of Hamilton administrative offices will be closed on Monday, July 3 and will reopen on Tuesday, July 4.

 

Lime Ridge Mall and Eastgate Square are both closed on Canada Day.

 

Recreation centres and Arenas are closed on Canada Day will be open and running regular scheduled public programming on Monday, July 3.

 

Farmers Market Closed

 

The HSR will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday Schedule on Saturday, July 1 and on Monday, July 3. Call HSR information at 905-527-4441 or visit www.hamilton.ca/hsr for more details.

 

GO Transit buses and trains are running on a Saturday schedule for Monday, July 3.

 

For everything else it is suggested you check online or call ahead to see if it is open before you head out.
