1. Burlington or Binbrook:STAYCATION?  Come kick off the Summer season this weekend at the beautiful 250 acre paddling oasis in Binbrook Conservation Area ! or at the Burlington Beach. Choose from tons of cool water toys available for rental including paddle boats, kayaks, canoes and standup paddleboards. Just want to relax on the beach? No problem Just pick out a comfy beach spot and enjoy. Don’t forget to check out all the classes going on all Summer too! Saturday & Sunday 10-7PM Monday 9-6PM

2. Wilsonville: Whistling  Botanical Gardens First Fountain Show of the season! Take a drive this weekend and come enjoy the show (complete with musical soundtrack) at the all stone open-air amphitheatre complete with backdrop of nearly 110 fountains, The granite stage walls and outer wings are over 400 feet and surrounded by gardens inside and out. Three individual 80 foot staircase fountains meet behind the stage. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 11:15, 1PM, & 2:45PM (Wilsonville is 20 min south of Brantford)

3. Victoria Day Weekend Fireworks
a) Hamilton: Dundas Driving Park. Sunday. Food trucks at 6; fireworks at 9:30pm
b) New Dundee (near Kitchener) Sunday: Fireworks at dusk.

UPDATE!!!!!   c) Conestogo (near Kitchener) was Saturday  (postponed till Monday) : Fireworks at sunset.
d) Caledonia: Sunday: Fireworks at dusk on the banks of the Grand River.
e) Niagara Falls: Special holiday weekend displays each night at 10PM.
f) Canada’s Wonderland: Sunday 10PM
g) Toronto: Ashbridges Bay Monday 9:45PM

4. Brantford: Starbeat Dance Competition. If you have a budding dancer in the family you won’t want to miss the 16th annual edition of Starbeat. Dance routines competing (in different age categories from age 3-17) will be judged by a panel of 3 professional judges who will award each routine a score out of 100 marks, The 3 marks will then be averaged to achieve a final mark out of 100 points for each performance. Sanderson Centre Saturday and Sunday 8AM on. Free admission. (phone the box office)

5. Hamilton and Cambridge areas: Camp out this weekend! Sleep under the stars at Fifty Point or Valens Lake Conservation Areas. Fifty Point’s campground is perfectly situated near the south shore of Lake Ontario with 70 fully serviced sites. Valens Lake offers both tent and RV camping and has 225 campsites both serviced and non-serviced, including 9 group areas and walk-in sites. (Spots available as of early Sat morning)
