That’s Now ‘Tom Petty Park’

The park where Tom Petty played as a boy now has been named after him. Local media outlets report that Northeast Park was renamed ‘Tom Petty Park’ on Saturday, on what would have been Petty’s 68th birthday. The solo singer, vocalist with the Heartbreakers, and member of the Traveling Wilburys, died on October 2017.
He grew up only about a block away from the park. His brother, Bruce Petty, says he remembers the park growing up as as a place to escape and be kids.
