Taylor Swift Trying To Stop Ticket Bots

Taylor swift has joined a short list of artists who are fighting the scalping of their tickets by utilizing Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program. The program is meant to allow people to preregister for tickets using their names, phone numbers, and emails as unique information to get into a digital line to buy tickets to a show.

Swift however is going a step above and beyond that by requiring her fans to take part in activities that will unlock the ability to buy tickets and move them up in the line; activities such as watching her videos, buying her album, or shopping at her store. This is different than other artists who have used the program, like Bruce Springsteen, Harry Styles, and Taylor’s friend Ed Sheeran, have done. They only used the base program to try to weed out the bots.

Taylor Swift announced her plans to change the way her tickets are to be made available on the same day she posted her official video teaser, both on her Youtube channel.

Details of her new Taylor Swift Tix program are available on her website.
