Stunt Driving Charges Laid In School Zone

Police impounded a vehicle and laid stunt driving charges Friday morning after clocking a driver going 107 km/h in an area where children were headed to school.
Waterloo Regional Police were enforcing traffic along Victoria Street South, where two elementary schools — Sandhills Public School and St. Dominic Savio Catholic school — are within a block of each other. At about 9:15 a.m., when children were arriving at school or getting dropped off, police radar measured a vehicle heading north going 107 km/h in an area with a 50 km/h speed limit.
Police charged the male driver with speeding, stunt driving and careless driving. They also impounded the vehicle and suspended the driver’s licence for seven days.
