1. New Year’s Levees – this tradition dates back to the 18th century….when the King (Louis XIV) would invite gentlemen to enter his bedroom on New Years Day and watch him begin serving the public! (have you been to one?)

a) Brantford: Mayor’s Levee. Stop by this free community event with displays from the Canadian Military Heritage Museum and an opportunity to tour the historic Armoury. Lunch provided. Saturday: Brantford Armoury 11:30-1:30PM

b) Burlington: New Year’s Levee All Burlington residents are invited to the third annual co-hosted by MPP Eleanor McMahon and MP Karina Gould. Guests are invited to enjoy free access to the gallery including demonstrations and hands-on activities. Light refreshments will be served. No RSVP required. Art Gallery of Burlington Sunday 1-4PM.

c) Cambridge: Mayor’s Levee. Join Mayor Craig and members of Cambridge City Council; celebrate 2018 with a fun-filled family afternoon featuring family entertainment by Team T and J, and Marco the Clown with his antics, balloons and his canine friend, Chip; in the City Hall atrium. Saturday 1-3:00PM.

d) Oakville: Mayor’s Levee. Mayor Rob Burton and Members of Council invite you and your family to celebrate the passing of another year at the Annual New Year’s Levee: The event will feature brief remarks from the Mayor as well as musical performances from the Oakville Children’s Choir and the John Canham Trio. Light refreshments will also be served. Sunday: 1-3PM Town Hall

e) Kitchener. Mayor’s Levee. Come one. Come all. Celebrate the New Year with Mayor Berry Vrbanovic, your council members, and your neighbours at the FREE carnival themed celebration under the big top of City Hall!
Warm up with some hot chocolate and enjoy popcorn and cotton candy ! Light refreshments catered by Bingemans will also be available. Kitchener City Hall Sunday 1:30-PM

f) Waterloo: Mayor’s Levee. The community is invited to celebrate 2018 with Mayor Dave Jaworsky and council at the annual New Year’s Levee. Come out and enjoy free skating between 10AM-12PM, free swimming from 2-4PM and lots of suprises for the young folk! So grab the kids, grab the skates and swim suit and come out for a fun afternoon! Sunday: Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex 11:30-1:30PM

3. Burlington: RBG New Escarpment Train Exhibit   All aboard! RBG’s newest model train experience takes you on a journey through four seasons of whimsical Canadian landscapes. The Escarpment Train Exhibit illustrates three eras of locomotion history including the steam engines of the late 1800s, the streamliners of the 1930s and the powerful modern diesels of the 1960s up to present day. Saturday and Sunday 10-4PM Rock Garden.

4. Guelph: Underwater Bubble Show. Journey to the colourful underwater world of Bubblelandia! After a long day filled with countless things to do, Mr. B finds himself transported to a magical land where seahorses, starfish, mermaids and clownfish lead him on an unforgettable adventure that proves fantasy can become reality. River Run Centre Saturday 7PM.
