1. Brantford: Brantford Kinsmen 9th Annual Ribfest. Great food, great fun and great entertainment all await you at this year’s RibStravaGanza at Cockshutt Park. While you’re taking in the food and fun, enjoy a little “retail therapy” at the vendors on site. You will be contributing to one of Brantford Kinsmen’s biggest fundraising events! Saturday and Sunday:

2. Kitchener: TD Blues Festival. You can enjoy World Class Blues performances in a great urban setting FREE! The 18th annual features top flight international, national & local blues & roots artists. Come and enjoy a great weekend of fun & music! Downtown Kitchener: Saturday and Sunday . Schedule of performers here.

3. Fergus: Scottish Festival and Highland Games. Scotland without the airfare! Over 30,000 visitors return year after year. The Games exemplify all things Scottish with a focus on heavy events, dancing, piping, clans and interactive family fun and community involvement. This year Graham McTavish is the festivals special guest. He portrays Dougal MacKenzie, War Chieftain of Clan MacKenzie, in Diana Gabaldon’s unbelievably popular series, Outlander, now a television drama series currently airing on STARZ. Saturday and Sunday: Fergus Sportsplex.

4. Burlington: Jazz Festival. The Burlington Performing Arts Centre welcomes one and all to an incredible weekend of FREE jazz music on the plaza. This free weekend festival features the Shirantha Beddage Quintet, Elise Legrow, Coco Love Alcorn, and the Mike Downes Quartet – a roster of musicians that could play any jazz festival in the country. Saturday and Sunday: Burlington PAC.

5. Hamilton: Ribfest. Don’t miss the BEST BBQ in CANADA! Here’s hoping you’re ready for a weekend full of food, fun, and entertainment because our attractions for kids and adults are guaranteed to keep the whole family busy! Check out this year’s’ craft beer market featuring: Flying Monkeys, Barnstormer Brewing, Iconic Brewing, Highlander Brewing, Naughty Otter. Did we forget the ribs?
