Special Weather Statement November 5th

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for much of Southern Ontario regarding the rainfall that is expected Today and into the evening. This statement has been upgraded to a warning closer to the lake through the Simcoe, Caledonia, and Niagara regions, we will update this page if there are changes to the statement.

It reads as follows;

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Kitchener – Cambridge – Region of Waterloo
  • Brantford – County of Brant
  • City of Hamilton
  • Burlington – Oakville

Significant rainfall this afternoon and this evening.

The shower and thunderstorm activity that affected much of southwestern Ontario during the night and early this morning has tapered off to isolated showers. Some areas have already seen 10 to 20 mm as of mid morning.

Additional rain and thunderstorms are expected to move back into the area this afternoon. Some of the thunderstorms are likely to be quite strong and produce torrential downpours, especially near Lake Erie. Rainfall amounts of 25 to 40 mm are likely.

Drier weather will move in later tonight as the low pressure system responsible moves out of the area.
