Severe Thunderstorm Warning Tuesday May 30

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning. Notice Below.

Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

  • Kitchener – Cambridge – Region of Waterloo

At 2:06 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts and up to nickel size hail.

Radar is indicating storms west of Waterloo tracking northeastward toward Fergus with potentially damaging hail of 2 to 3 cm in size.

Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Locally heavy rain is also possible. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.cpio-tempetes-ospc-storms.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
