Safe Return For Space Travelers

Nasa announced the safe return of three of the International Space Station crew Sunday morning after 168 days in space where they performed hundreds of experiments. Astronauts Norishige Kanai (Japan), Anton Shkaplerov (Russia), and Scott Tingle (US), all began their return at 2:02 am ET by saying goodbye to the space station and it was all reported by NASA and the International Space Station (ISS) on twitter.

They then undocked from the station at 5:16 am ET.

And of course the touchdown in Kazakhstan.

The sending and retrieving of people from the ISS has become something that gets glossed over for the most part; but it is worth taking a moment to realize we have just brought people back from space safely. That is quite an achievement still.

Cheers to NASA, the ISS, and the three returning space travellers. Well done.
