Next Time You Visit Cuba, Check Out the Bellamar Caves!

They caves are located in the city of Matanzas, about an hour’s bus ride from Varadero.  They have been  open to visitors since the 1860’s and are considered to be one of the oldest tourist attractions in Cuba.

The impressive halls and galleries  of the cave are filled with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, an underground stream with pool (where legend has it that a quick dip of the hands will solve any single romance problems you may have) along with crystals, and other unique limestone formations.  Indigenous paintings and fossils have also been found here. The route open to visitors is about 1 km long.

The cave is humid and warm, so don’t over dress for the occasion!  Wear good walking shoes as it can be slippery at times.

Well, here; have a look for yourself!  http://bit.ly/2EbETa5
