Money Can Make You Sick

“Dirty money” is an understatement when it comes to the actual filth attached to our bills and coins. Studies have shown the root of all evil can be deadly to more than just your soul. Staph infection. A report in the Southern Medical Journal found pathogens such as staphylococcus are rampant on U.S. dollar bills. The bacteria is common, but can turn deadly if it invades deeper into your body, and flows through your bloodstream, into your joints, bones, and organs. Paper money can reportedly carry more germs than a household toilet, and even share the same grossness with E. coli bacteria. In a Swiss study, researchers discovered the influenza virus can stay infectious on currency for up to 17 days. Currency can also carry bacterial meningitis which causes the brain to swell. It’s also noted that those who handle food and money at the same time could transfer salmonella. Some good advice, always wash your hands after handling money….Ed
