Q: This study says that if you’re trying to save money when shopping, you should do this?
A: Shop with a friend.
The Canadian study’s authors said: ‘The presence of a friend while shopping enhances significantly more apprehension than shopping alone. It may also create a feeling of competition and social comparison.
‘The presence of a shopping pal, either a friend or a family member, draws the other shopper from his or her routine processes, makes them more cognitively and emotionally alert, which explains the strengthening of the relation with the shopping environment.
