Lunchtime Trivia Tuesday, June 26

Q: More and more Canadians are choosing to do this themselves to save money.  The nature of this industry is changing because of it.  What are they doing?

A: Representing themselves in court.

Yet the growth in so-called “self-repping” has gone on unabated. In a survey performed last year, 84 out of 132 litigants approached randomly in Ontario courthouses said they were representing themselves

There are many ways to save a buck by DIY or doing it yourself.  Is representing yourself in the court of law a good idea?  Well for many it is the only option to save money.  There are organisations there to help you along the way and some judges are said to be more understanding and patient than others.  One is the National Self-Represented Litigants Project NSRLP
