Little Girl Who Couldn’t Speak Now Can and it’s Amazing

For the longest time, Amber Austwick was unable to speak. Amber, an 7-year-old in Birmingham, England, was born prematurely, 2010. Amber needed a life-saving tracheotomy that restricted air to her vocal cords, as a result, she was able to breathe, but unable to speak. But that changed when Amber’s mom took her to an animal sanctuary. It was there that Amber met Shocks, a donkey that had been rescued from abuse. Amber wasn’t scared of the big animal and Shocks, now a therapy donkey, was really excited to meet her and they’ve kept that bond ever since. The connection was instantaneous. Amber even learned to ride the donkey who, only a little while before was rescued from a farm in Ireland, who had been left for dead. It was an amazing day in November, after taking a ride and getting ready to leave the sanctuary to go home, she hugged the donkey and spoke to everyone’s amazement, she said, “I love you”. Neither Shocks nor Amber had the easiest lives before they met each other. But the future looks bright for both of them…… Ed
