Lets Celebrate it’s NATIONAL PIE DAY !!

National Pie Day is not to be confused with the mathematical Pi Day which is recognized on March 14. National Pie Day is celebrated annually on January 23rd. National Pie Day was created simply to celebrate the pie. It is a day for all to bake or cook their favorite pies. Even more importantly, it is a day set aside for all to enjoy eating pies! The first pies appeared around 9500 BC in the Egyptian Neolithic period or New Stone Age. National Pie Day was started in the mid-1970s by Boulder, Colorado nuclear engineer and teacher Charlie Papazian after he declared his own birthday, January 23, to be National Pie Day. Since 1986, National Pie Day is now sponsored by the American Pie Council to commemorate Crisco’s 75th anniversary of “serving foods to families everywhere”. So what are you going to do, the Pie-Sibilities are endless!. Will it be one of the 231 varieties of apple pie, perhaps pumpkin pie, which was first introduced to the holiday table at the pilgrim’s second thanksgiving in 1623? or maybe a pecan, Lemon, coconut crème , banana crème, cheery, maybe even sweet potato, ENJOY…Ed
