Leafs Fans Waiting For Details On Matthews

Leaf Nation will be holding its breath until it learns about the health of Auston Matthews.
The Franchise — (is it too early/too much to call him that?) — left the Maple Leafs’ 4-3 shootout win with a minute left in regulation after getting crunched between Adam Pelech and Cal Clutterbuck.
Leafs coach Mike Babcock said he didn’t know anything, but would know more in the morning, and all eyes will be at practice to see if Matthews emerges to prepare for Saturday’s game against Boston.
Matthews has missed games twice — four games in November and then six games in December. The team didn’t announce the specifics on either injury, other than “upper body.” The first was believed to be his back. The second, Matthews admitted to later, was a concussion.
The Leafs went 6-4-0 without him (4-0-0 the first time).
Betting is the Leafs will take it easy on their star centre, who scored his 28th to tie the game with under four minutes to go. They’re sitting pretty right now, keeping the pressure on both Boston and Tampa ahead of them in Atlantic Division.
