Today is the day to celebrate Mom. It’s Mother’s Day! So get those flowers, sign the card, make your dinner reservations and take Mom out for the day and remind her that she is still appreciated for everything she has done over the years.
But remember Mother’s Day is not just about your own biological mom. There is so much more to celebrate on a day like Today. While you are thinking about Mother’s Day try to remember all the mom’s who didn’t give birth to the kids they helped to raise, like adoptive mother’s, step-mothers, big sisters, aunt’s, grandmothers, foster mother’s, and so many more.
Foster and Adopted Kids Say “Happy Mother’s Day”
And don’t forget the mother’s who did not get to raise the kids they did give birth to; those who lost, those who had to give up, those who stood surrogate, and others. While Yesterday has been dedicated as the day for these mother’s it seems right that they should still be given thought Today.
There are also those whose Mother’s are no longer around to celebrate with and this can be a hard day for them. So reach out and give them a hug.
So who ever your Mom is, how ever many you may or may not have, Happy Mother’s Day. May it be spent in love and laughter and memory.
