Those Are Some Extra-Ancient ‘Ancient Grains’

Researchers at the University of Toronto say they’ve identified domesticated quinoa (KEEN’-wah) seeds dating back three-thousand years.
The school says a mass of charred seeds was found during the construction of a home in Brantford in 2010.
They say it’s the first time this particular variety of the popular superfood has been found north of Kentucky.
The research is published int he December 2018 issue of American Antiquity.
