Family Literacy Day
January 28 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Family Literacy Day is a national awareness initiative. It was created by ABC Life Literacy Canada in 1999 and is held annually in January.
The mission: to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family.
In Waterloo Region, a free interactive event has been planned on the last Sunday in January for all families to explore and enjoy literacy.
This year, Family Literacy Day falls on Sunday, January 28, 2018.
It is held at Conestoga Mall in Waterloo from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Join Erick Traplin and the French Catholic School Board in a sing-dance-along. Visit the many Family Literacy organizations booths to experience the “Five Practices of Early Literacy”–Play, Sing, Talk, Read and Write.
