The Engagement Ring and The Cost

A recent survey of more than 14,000 engaged or recently married individuals, revealed something, it was discovered that only one in three marriage proposals are a surprise. It’s valentines and possibly the right time for proposal season (the time of year when 37 percent of couples get engaged), here are some fascinating facts about millennials and marriage especially when it comes to ring shopping. Only one in three proposals are a surprise, which can be attributed to the fact that partners are planning and discussing their future together long before an actual proposal happens. When it comes to the ring, the cost has risen by 25 percent from $5,095 to $6,351 and the average time spent looking for one hovers around 3.5 months. Couples said they looked at an average of 26 rings before deciding on the one. Other statistics, most popular stone cut is round, average carat size for total ring: 1.8 carats and the most popular engagement ring setting metal is white gold…..Ed
