A new recommendation from a Harvard professor has many calling for the cancellation of the Ivy League. The professor, Eric Rimm, says the perfect amount of fries you should eat with your meal should be around six according to the New York Times:
“There aren’t a lot of people who are sending back three-quarters of an order of French fries,” Dr. Rimm said. “I think it would be nice if your meal came with a side salad and six French fries.”
Most people didn’t get too much further into the article before sharing their reactions, finding it to be a little crazy — even if it is healthier.
While portion control or healthier choices like a baked white or sweet potato are mentioned, people online weren’t prepared to ditch their fries.
Most reactions freely admitted to eating far more than six, thinking the recommendation was pure madness, and that they would never eat just six.
Changes can be made elsewhere. The healthiest options will likely be home fries, baked fries, or sweet potato. The worst are any fries you add a topping to — especially chili fries or poutine (sorry Canada.)
