A Different Kind Of Report Card

You can have perfect attendance and be the best-behaved kid in school, but when it comes to those grades, sometimes things just don’t come together.

How about kids who are trying their best but simply learn differently than other students?

That’s the situation that Shane Jackson’s 10-year-old daughter, Sophie, finds herself in being on the autism spectrum.

After receiving her recent grades, Sophie came home from school in tears. She had gotten all D’s on her report card.

To show that grades ultimately aren’t everything, and are usually in no way reflective of someone’s personality, Shane made his daughter a new and improved report card.

(Loves dogs, drawing and making robots? Where can we apply to be Sophie’s friend?)

Her dad’s heartwarming post quickly went viral on Twitter and has been retweeted more than 12,000 times, and the responses have been lovely.

Shane has also set up a Twitter account to showcase Sophie’s artwork. This little girl from Tasmania, Australia is quite the artist!
