2. Niagara-On-The-Lake. A Christmas Carol. Ebenezer Scrooge is a miserable old miser. But when three ghosts decide to swoop in overnight, he gets the wake-up call of a lifetime. This charming Christmas classic by Charles Dickens has one of life’s most inspiring questions at its heart: what — and who — will really matter in the end? See it brought to life in the historic Royal George Theatre by the Shaw Festival’s world-class ensemble. Saturday 7PM (and ongoing) https://bit.ly/2QfoubC

3. Kitchener: Handel’s Messiah. The Grand Philharmonic Choir along with the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony present “The Messiah”. Whether this is your very first Messiah, or whether you have heard it countless times, this is a very special experience. Every year, it is fresh and full of wonder, yet timeless and traditional. Just like the Christmas season itself. Saturday: Centre in the Square. 7:30PM https://bit.ly/2APSJvi

4. Brantford: Christmas Bells. Bring your Christmas bells along to the Sanderson Centre for the BSO’s annual seasonal extravaganza! As always, the orchestra presents your sentimental favourites in new and exciting arrangements, along with some “two thumbs up” chestnuts from years past. And don’t miss special guests, the Elmer Iseler Singers! Saturday 7:30 PM https://bit.ly/2EbuP1r

5. Hamilton: The Nutcracker. This celebration of the wonder of the season is based on the popular traditional story The Nutcracker and the King of Mice by E.T.A. Hoffman, enjoyed by audiences for years. The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition brings out the magic of Canada. 20th Century landscapes make up the stunning 30-foot backdrops, including Franklin Carmichael’s Church and Houses at Bisset (1931). Audiences are taken on Klara’s familiar, magical dream journey as she arrives in Canada and experiences winter landscapes filled with snowflakes, lumberjacks, Mounties, and creatures of the woods. Saturday: 2PM First Ontario Concert Centre https://bit.ly/2Pg4162
