The Children’s Safety Village of Brant has been asked to move. According to a statement by President Dr. Leo Vos on the Village’s website the owner of the property is planning an expansion and will need the land currently occupied by the village. The land that the village sits on is owned by Innovative Blast Technologies President Jim Wilson, and Dr. Vos statement says that they are working together to make the transition as smooth as possible; but that the village has until the middle of 2022 to relocate.
The Children’s Safety Village is a valuable tool to be used by teachers, Police, and the Fire Department in order to help children better understand safety measures and instructions by conducting them in a controlled environment.
This has left the Village organizers to look at new location options; but before they can settle on a decision that will be able to meet their needs they need to know if they will be able to afford it and that means community support. They are also currently assessing community support and considering their options for fundraising to be able to build and maintain a new facility.
There are currently no announced plans or meetings but they do have social media if you wish to express your support vocally. You can find them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. They will likely announce ways to support them financially following the assessment of community support.
They also have stated that any further information and announcements will be made available on their website which you can find here; cvsbrant.ca
