Security guards typically tackle unruly, stage-crashing concert fans.At a Celine Dion concert, however, you’re tackled with kindness … from the Canadian songstress herself.
During one of Dion’s concerts at Caesars Palace on Jan. 5, a woman somehow made her way past security and onto the stage to stand beside the Love Can Move Mountains singer.
Dion took the incident in stride and calmly talked to the fan despite being grabbed.
“I’m glad you came on the stage tonight. I thought you just wanted to come closer to me,” Dion told the fan. “It’s 2018. You know what? We’ve got babies that we love. We’re going to fight for them. And we’re wearing gold. That’s a sign.”
As the fan sang and danced on stage during the two-minute ordeal, Celine asked her if she’s “ready to party tonight,” all the while shooing away security guards who were ready to eject the fan.
Dion shared some wise words with the crowd as the woman was helped off stage.
“Some people go through a lot and some people need to talk,” Dion said. “I want to thank all of you because for maybe five minutes we have given this lady a moment to talk. I think it was important. Thank you so much for your patience.”
The moment was captured on video and has been viewed more than 118,000 times on YouTube. According to the video’s poster, the woman wanted to tell Dion her son had a bone marrow transplant and wanted to ask fans to be donors.
