Canada is as Good as Gold!

Tyler Steenbergen broke a tie game with less than 2 minutes remaining giving Canada the gold at the World Juniors in Buffalo.  It was their first championship since 2015.  Dillon Dube also scored for Canada, while Alex Formenton added an empty-net goal 26 seconds after Steenbergen scored. Carter Hart made 35 saves, tying Jimmy Waite and Stephane Fiset for most career wins by a Canadian goalie at the world juniors.

Seven players on the Canadian roster returned from last year’s squad that settled for silver.
