Hot dogs, anybody? Six, seven dozen or so?
If watching people scarf down dozens of hot dogs at a single sitting is your thing you’ll be interested in the annual Nathan’s Famous July Fourth Hot Dog Eating Competition. Ten-time winner Joey Chestnut will try to cut the mustard against 20 challengers on New York’s Coney Island (not literally though, since condiments are obviously a waste of time in competitive eating). Chestnut holds the men’s record, set last year, with 72 frankfurters and buns eaten in 10 minutes.
On the women’s side, Miki Sudo is seeking her fifth women’s title in a row. She downed 41 hot dogs and buns in last year’s contest.
Good luck to the contestants. I think I’ll stick to one… okay, two. (With mustard).
