Every time Brooklyn Moors didn’t think things could get any better, she proved herself wrong. Heading into the 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal, the 16-year-old gymnast was the lone senior rookie on a Canadian team laden with Olympians. So she kept her expectations to a minimum. But the script was flipped when the Cambridge native qualified for the all-around finals last week finishing 15th. The top 24 moved onto the finals. She also finished fifth in floor and advanced to event finals in the discipline. she was awarded the prestigious Longines Prize for Elegance — awarded to gymnasts who convey emotional appeal that surpasses technical aspects and show grace, beauty, harmony of movement and elegance. The prize, never before awarded to a Canadian gymnast, included US$5,000, a $2,000 Longines watch and a trophy….Ed
