Cambridge Dance Teacher Aims For The Record Books

Cambridge dance and fitness teacher Yovana Russell is appealing to residents across the region to put a little boogie in their step and help set a line dancing record. Russell, the owner of KYnamics, which offers dance and fitness classes wants to share her passion for movement with the community by attempting to set a record for the largest line dancing event in Waterloo Region. This love for dance, for its social and fitness aspects, is the motivating factor behind her idea to organize a record-breaking line dancing attempt. Russell hopes to attract hundreds of participants to the event, which will challenge dancers to perform the Boot Scootin’ Boogie. The free event, set for Sunday, Aug. 26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lone Star restaurant on Pinebush Road in Hespeler, and will try to put Waterloo Region in the record books and will serve as a warm up for a later attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest line dance. This year’s event could go down in the books as there is no current record for simultaneous line dancing in Waterloo Region. So far, more than 120 people have already stepped up to join. The event will be documented on video….Ed
