Have you been ‘meaning’ to take back your library books? Occasionally I will forget. Fortunately I get automated reminders by email to return books or movies.
The Lexington, Kentucky public library says a member recently returned a book that was 50 years overdue. Don Lawson’s ”The United States in World War I; the story of General John J. Pershing and the American Expeditionary Forces” was checked out in 1968. ‘Dale H.’ returned the book along with an apology note. The library caps late fees at $6.75 otherwise Dale would have owed $2,700 for his late return. See the full story here
