B.C. Family Suffers Sea Lion Scare

Wild animals are unpredictable and are wild for a reason. They are used to hunting for their food and can sometimes mistake people for their prey. Occasionally they can even cause deadly harm by accident. One family, and a little girl in particular, learned a lesson in that fact with a frightening incident in Richmond, B.C. yesterday.

In a video posted to Youtube you can see a sea lion swimming in the waters near the dock, likely being lured in by the bread crumbs being tossed in the water, and people standing about enjoying the sight of the animal. But two individuals can be seen getting a little too close including a little girl who has to leap back as the animal comes out of the water. She then decides to sit on the edge of the dock at which point the create lunges out and pulls her in. A nearby adult quickly jumps in and pulls her up onto the dock and other bystanders pull them both clear of the water with no harm being done.

The animal can then be seen still circling in the waters where the incident had just occurred.
