2017 Weather Photographer of the Year Winners.

The Royal Photographic Society and the Royal Meteorological Society (UK) hold a contest each year to find the best and the most dramatic weather images from around the world. This year the contest received over 2000 entrants from more than 60 countries.

The grand prize was won by Mike Olbinski of the USA with his ‘Superstrike’ photo of a lightning storm over Arizona’s Superstition Mountains.

Second prize went to Michele Palazzo, also from the US, with his image ‘Flatiron Building in the Blizzard’ taken in New York City.  It has quite a resemblance to the flatiron building in Toronto,

In third place was Merveille Adomou for her close up ‘Frozen Fall’.
